Groundwork to Grandeur: The Huntover Project
Landscape Architect: Richardson & Associates
General Contractor: Thorsen Construction
Landscape Contractor: Lucas & Clark Grounds Company

Comprehensive Site Work and Stormwater Management
The project began with meticulous site preparation, including grading and erosion control, to create a stable and well-prepared foundation for the entire property. Recognizing the importance of effective drainage, we installed a custom stormwater management system to ensure water flowed efficiently and safely away from the home and landscaped areas. This thoughtful approach protects the property from erosion and sustains the health of the plantings.
Vibrant Landscaping and Sustainable Plantings
Lush, layered plantings were selected to complement the architecture of the property. The landscape design incorporates a variety of native plants, vibrant perennials, and low-maintenance shrubs that provide year-round beauty and seasonal interest. Every flower bed and greenery layout was carefully designed to balance aesthetics and functionality.
Irrigation and Long-Term Care
An in-ground irrigation system was installed to support the landscape’s long-term health, especially during Virginia’s dry spells. This ensures that the property remains lush and vibrant throughout the year with minimal effort from the homeowners.
